LIVE GODLY LIVES

There is evidence of change in those who are followers of Jesus as we take off our old way of life and put on the new self (Colossians 3). When we are together, we encourage one another to live a life that reflects God’s love.

Transformation always follows faith in Jesus Christ. God does this as you study His word and interact with fellow believers. How?

  • Attend services regularly.
  • Join a small fellowship group.
  • Spend personal time in the Bible and praying. An easy way is to join us reading the One-Year Bible.

They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

-Acts 2:42

Be diligent to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who doesn’t need to be ashamed, correctly teaching the word of truth.

-2 Timothy 2:15

SERVE

Every follower of Jesus has a part to play in strengthening their community of faith.  Within the First Colony Bible family, we desire that each member be equipped to discover and use their gifts for the Lord.  One of your next steps will be to discover a way that God has gifted you to serve others.

For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with yourfaith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

– Romans 12:4-8

SHARE THE GOSPEL

 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.

When you discover life in Christ, it’s impossible to keep such good news to yourself. Another next step for followers of Jesus is to learn to share the good news about Jesus with others. Here is a simple outline to get you started or contact someone in leadership to help you.

  • God created us to be with Him (Genesis 1)

  • Our sin separates us from God (Genesis 3)

  • Sin cannot be removed by good deeds (Genesis 4 – Malachi 4)

  • Paying the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again (Matthew – Luke)

  • Everyone who trusts in Him alone has eternal life (John)

  • Life with Jesus starts now and lasts forever (Acts – Revelation)

OTHER WAYS TO GIVE

Offering envelopes can be requested by asking one of the Ushers. There is an offering box located at the back of the Worship Center on your way out to the Foyer.

The offering can be designated for the general fund, benevolence, or for missionaries commissioned and/or support by our Church.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

First Colony Bible Chapel is involved in supporting missionaries in many parts of the world. Learn more about the work they are doing and how you can be involved by visiting the Missions Center at church.

For many of these workers, you can make contributions to further their work through an organization called Christian Missions in Many Lands (CMML).
